Aims This site aims to provide information on the best clinical use of Kr81m gas generators for lung ventilation imaging. There are some basic traps and misconceptions which can lead to poor quality images. We have therefore tried to distill our thoughts and experiences onto this site. We would appreciate your comments ( any issues unclear?, anything that we have missed?)
ProfileWe are a large nuclear medicine department with three gamma cameras and a patient workload of about 6000 investigations per year. For over twenty years we have been involved in the manufacture and use of Kr81m generators. We have published a number of papers on the use of Kr81m and have also wide experience of what to do and, through helping resolve image quality issues with many other users, what not to do!
